I love contacting old friends just to see how their lives are progressing,. I've always enjoyed doing this. One friend that was very much a part of my life back in grade 7 & 8 came back into my life about a year & a half ago at our high schools 40th reunion. I hadn't seen or spoken to her for about 30yrs. Didn't recognise her but another old friend pointed her out so I walked over and re-introduced myself. Well, to say the least we both freaked and hugged each other and started to talk & talk & talk!! As the evening started to wind down we agreed to try and find a time to have coffed before she had to leave. You see she had been living partly in portugal and partly in Toronto. She and her Husband whom I'd never met are missionaries and very involved with their spitual lives. A life very different from mine. So next day we connected by phone and mutually decided to meet at my place the next night around 7pm. I'm disabled (MS) and going out somewhere could be somewhat exhausting and it's always much easier on me for people to came to my place. Well, Carolyn arrived about 7 and we started talking about both our lives. Well, before we realized it, it was way past 11pm. Both of us really enjoyed catching up on just about everything. We exchanged email addresses, hugged each other and promised to stay in Touch. Shortly after that I moved far away and Carolyn went back to Portugal. Once I got settled in my new city I sent an email Carolyn and we tried to connect but her life was very busy and changing. I persisted and finally today I called her in Toronto where is is now living full time. We connected and talked for well over an hour and we both enjoyed catching up once again. I hate to think how much the long distance phone bill is going to be but so what....sometimes you just need to do what you need to do when it comes to old friends, right!
