Jun 27./13 A Graduation, new Denture, a Family Dinner

Today was the last day of my vacation in Ottawa. It was a long hot & humid day but such a wonderful day. My baby boy, all 6'l of him graduated with honours (80+ average) from his high school this afternoon. He was all ear to ear smiles with all his friends, many of them from 4 yr old kindergarten. A wonderful advantage of growing up in a very small country community. All the kids looked so smart in their royal blue cap and gowns posing for pictures galore. I must say both his Dad and I were so proud of him. He's the baby of our family and for many years was a very shy timid little guy. Now, he has many many friends, is very much countrified and will most likely live in the harbour or some such small little place and be as happy as a lark.

I even got my upper plate (denture) after the grad ceremonies and Thank the Universe it fits pretty good. I gave Andrea, my dentist, the biggest and warmest hug for all that she did for me. Getting a denture within two weeks time was a feat of incredible proportions. This usually takes upwards of 8 to l0 weeks at best. I told Andrea that from this day forward that I will come to Ottawa for any further Denture issues. Never again will I attempt to go back the Guy in Owen Sound that caused all this grief in the first place. The cost of said Denture was quoted as costing $2200.00. But the Lab was so upset that there was a delay from them to indicated they would only charge me 50% of the normal lab fees. Unbelievable since all these people went way beyond the call of duty for me. So we'll see what the final bill is when brother gets the bill. So many people doing so very much for me I am in complete AWE. I've been so blessed and simple thank you just doesn't feel appropriate. Andrea, you will always have a very special place in my heart and soul. You are a good woman and a wonderful friend.

The kids and Paul picked the restaurant and the girls met up with us there. The girls gave their brother big hugs and gave him their gifts (big drinking mug and shot glasses for college in the fall). Paul had rings made for our 5th anniversary 21 years ago so I had it resized to Quins very large finger and gave it to him at his grad ceremony. With my wedding band and engagement ring I had necklaces and earings made with the Diamonds for the girls high school grads and this ring for Quin. I Wanted all 3 kids to have a piece of Paul & my love for each other to carry for the rest of their lives if they so choose. I thing all three of them will cherish their gifts for a very long time to come. This makes me very happy and very proud.....

Well it is now after 5am with no sleep but I'm happy I got a lot of things done over this past night. I hope I get a chance to sleep in the car but I don't usually sleep in a moving vehicle. I will survive and sleep when I get home to my own comfy bed tonight.....have a good day for anyone who might be following this blog......
