Wed.19/13 - Great day with Daugher and Good Frtiends
Up early this morning being anxious to hear from my oldest Daughter to see what she wanted to do. I told her last night I didn't care what we did. I just wanted to be with her so she could do what she wanted. She came and got me around 1pm and we headed across the river and on to downtown Ottawa. We went to Market which Ottawa is famous for and had a blast. We took my friends wheelchair as I knew I would never last walking all over the place for a couple of hours. She bought a really nice toe ring and I bought us each a Henna tattoo - mine a turtle and hers a heart on our arms....When my kids were young I'd take them downtown for a day in the Market and all four of us would get a tattoo or two every summer for many years. Those were such wonderful times way back then. She got the famous 'Beaver Tail' and I only had a very small taste as they are made with lots of sugar sprinkled on top - so not good for a diabetic but it did taste nice. We went up and down the streets checking out all the arts and crafts and jewelry stalls and listened to street music everywhere. The best was the Sax player, I love the Sax and he was really good. I could have sat right in front of him and listened all afternoon. Reminded me of years ago hitting a really cool wine bar and listening to jazz guitarists many years ago when in my early 20's. We headed back over the river before the heavy traffic started up and arranged for me to head back Sat. Evening for an evening going out to a popular Gay bar downtown. My daughter is not gay herself but she has numerous gay friends. So, this should be quite interesting and fun. I'll spend the night on her couch and head back to Aylmer Sunday morning....So much to look forward to and to think I'll still have a very busy week next week. I'll need to head home before I pass out from total exhaustion. At least I'll have fun, lots of fun doing it all.....until tomorrow then, another busy day....Forgot, I met up with my friends from the Retirement home I lived in a couple of years ago. Staff that I really liked and got along with. There were 4 of us and we got together for a drink and a lot of laughs....it was real nice.....so until tomorrow then I'm off to bed. Another incredible day for me and my gratitude just keeps growing and growing to everyone that is making this the best holiday ever for me. All such wonderful giving friends. Again, I so very lucky to have them all in my life !!
