Another very busy day and I LOVE it all. I was us just before 6am to get ready for my day and out the door by 8am. First business of this day was volunteering up at the Hospital in my area, doing 'Charts'. It is not difficult at all but just perfect for me and my disabilities. It's with 4 other volunteers one of which is mentally challenged, I just know how well I'm going to love it. I had my TB reaction checked and all is AOK there. However, I have to go back in 8 weeks to be retested again. I'll be called when that is but it's all just a precautionary measure the hospital has and I'm not at all worried about it.
Next I headed downtown, albeit very early for the monthly Accessibility Advisabily Committee Monthly meeting. While I was waiting around I was informed by the Chair of the protest to be held at the bus terminal because the City is really screwing around with closing this very important place as well as the Number of buses to be on the road from 4 to 3 starting tomorrow. This is very bad and will affect many people in this City. The present city council and Mayor has done many things during this Administration to Adversely affect this City. There will be another protest at next Monday's Council Meeting and I will definitely be present for that as well. I'm very upset about it all. At this afternoons protest all of the AAC members were there and I even spoke briefly as to how this will affect me as all the AAC members spoke. It was hard but I did it and am very proud of myself even though I got real wobbly and shoot like a bunch of leaves in a strong wind.
I made it home by about 2:30 exhausted so dosed in my chair for a couple of hours. Tomorrow afternoon will be busy for me and am looking forward to Mom and Dad's 59th Anniversary tomorrow night. I'm very happy with what I'm doing right now and look forward to the time I can join the Housing Committee. I talked briefly with a couple of the members, One being a Lawyer the other the Former Mayor, to see if they thought I would be a good fit for this committee and they both thought I would be. I've attended their meetings as an observer and hope that it does come to pass for me. I'll be applying in November once the Applications come out for the 2013/14 term.
So all in all a really good day for me and I'm right now well within my Happy Place and smiling lots.
I am so grateful for getting more and more involved with all that I am. I'm grateful for all the people I've got to know in this City and look forward to more activities to get me out of this apartment. I'm also very grateful to Kris as we sent a couple of very brief msg's last night and she is planning to send me the CD and Toy when she gets the time. She has been such a great friend to me and someday we'll reconnect to continue the wonderful friendship once I've managed to get my life in proper order to be the true friend I want to be. I'm a work in progress so I have expectations that I will be able to get this done and put behind me. There is just so much to forward to in my life now that I being proactive and not feeling sorry for myself. YAHOO
