Well another Christmas day has arrived. I got up around 6am and am waiting anxiously to Skype with all my family back in Ottawa. Phoned them around 9am to wish them a good morning and we decided that we'll connect up around 10 or so. I've cleaned up a little and made my bed, put my teeth in, threw all my clothes in the hamper to get my laundry started after the Skyping is done. I'm going to wear my Christmas Tie (gaudy as it is) I wore it last Christmas so I think it's going to be my Annual Christmas attire. Ha a new tradition I believe for me and I like that idea a lot. So now I'm trying to pass the time with one eye on the clock.
OMG what an incredible Skype with my kids, Bryan and Paul this morning. It certainly was the next best thing to be there with them. The gifts they gave me so thoughtful and personal. Those kids are so beautiful and wonderfully full of compassion that it so overwhelms me. They never ever cease to show their love for both me and Paul. We are the luckiest parents by far. I'm adding a list of what they gave me so I'll never ever forget this super morning:
Kelsey - huge flannel blanket embossed with the most beautiful picture of the 3 of them. Gorgeous and smiling brightly, even Quin who never smiles in pictures. Tobie apparently was tickling him to make him smile for me. LOVE IT. She also gave me the 2014 Calendar filled with old and new pictures of everyone doing things over the last year.
Tobie - beautiful wooden box with pictures on all sides and the top. Inside the box were many other pictures that I can interchange whenever I want. Also copies of all the pictures I've asked for over the year.
Quin - 3 T-shirts that say Algonquin College in the 3 different shades of the Collage (Green, White, Grey) and all large which is exactly the size if prefer wearing.
An incredible Christmas morning for me. One of the best in years without a doubt. The session had to end as the kids are all busy and needing to be elsewhere. No sadness this morning which is again another first for me. Being in the place that I am with peace and harmony in my heart and soul is such a blessing and I'm chalk full of gratitude and love that I could actually shout it out from the rooftops.
Chatted briefly with both Carm and Kris as well this morning and Kris sent me a bunch of pictures of Jack and his Aunt Sue having a blast playing his new play station games relaxed, in PJ's and lounging around on Pillows on the floor. Such a wonderful family Christmas in her new home. I'm so very happy for Kris and have told her so.
Glen called me around 2 and we decided to have Mike come and pick me up about 4. I've got everything organized and ready to take with me so I'm just sitting around channel surfing the boob tube and relaxing.
I had a wonderful time at Glen's tonight and was given some very nice gifts. Gift cards for walmart, a 1hr body message from Glen, slippers and hat knitted from Mom and Dad. A very wonderful Turkey dinner and all the mixin's.
Today was a beautiful blessing of love and compassion. All my fears and anxieties leading up to today were totally unfounded. Actually ended up being the best Xmas day in many ways. I have so much gratitude.
Got home before 7pm and set about taking all the decorations down, packing them up and putting them away for another year. Now I just have to figure out what to do for the next 2 weeks but not too worried about it. I also put all my gifts away and will hit Walmart over the next couple of days to see what I want to buy with my gift money.
