Sun.Jan.19/14

well I was so excited when I got up this morning. Today was the day to face my fears and try skating again. I sure didn't work out as I had planned. What else is new eh? The last pair of skates were sold from Value Village on Friday so of course no skates and not getting skates meant no skating. Glen took me to Walmart as he had some time still so I picked up a few groceries I needed. We went to the sports department and I tried on a pair of mens bauer skates to verify my size. Boy has skate design ever changed for the better. Wish I had the money to buy them right then and there. But no point in spending  that much money if I don't even know if I can once again skate. Glen will check with his many friends to see if he can find a used pair to buy off of someone before we decide just want to do. I was quite sad this morning but since the day is really bad here in the Sound with very high winds and white outs we would not be able to skate anyway. We'll try again later which is fine with me. There is free public skating on Sunday afternoons at a couple of rinks so having boards to hold onto really is a smarter thing to do. I'm still very determined to carry this through and face my fears of skating again. It may work out ok or may not but nothing venture, nothing gained is the way I'm looking at this.

The weather forecast fot tonight and again tomorrow is not so good. That damned arctic vortex is lingering and we are under a severe weather watch up her. Hope I will be able to make it to work tomorrow at the hospital. Will just have to wait and see in the morning.

May or may not chat with Chris tonight but have chatted a bit with Carm. Other than that nothing much is going on. I am very grateful for glen helping work on getting some skates and hopefully getting out soon. Also for taking me to walmart to try on skates to find out my size of skake I need. I hope glen finds something that from one of his many friends who played hockey and are willing to sell them. My fingers and hopes sure are to see this happen for me.
