Fri. Aug.21/14 What have I been up too???
Haven't done much over the last few days. I'm just trying to get my routines back in order after the last weeks very busy and caotic activities. Finally composed and sent a letter of deep gratitude to the President of the Grey Bruce Folk Society for all the help I received while volunteering at the Festival last weekend. Especially pointing out all the Carol did to ensure my experiences were all that I had hoped for. So that ends the festival things I wanted to accomplish and I feel really good about getting that sent.
I met with my brother and we made arrangements to have my files sent to the new Neurologist her in town to ensure if I have any MS flare ups I will be able to be seen by him before I make the move home to Ottawa in about 6 months time. We also talked about what I should be concentrating on doing next in my preparations for Ottawa. I've called the MPP for the area I want to move to with hopes that his office might be able to supply me information on what appartments have disability accessible possibilities. If they don't call me back I'll send an email to their offices next. I cacelled my MS London appointment in October and will wait until I get a Neurologist in Ottawa to start over there. We filled out the extra paper work required to complete my already submitted application to get on the waiting list for affordable housing in Ottawa. Minimum 5 year wait but at least I'm on the list now.
I managed to get Rocky into the new cat carrier I bought for him this morning. He's a bit to long and big for it but it will allow me to take him to the Vets on the Disability bus or in a cab. However I must keep my eyes open for something longer (bigger) for the 8 hour drive to Ottawa when I move. I'll keep checking around the various spots around town to find something used.
I cancelled going in for my Volunteer shift at the Hospital today. I called to see if they were going to be busy and they said not to worry about coming in. I have so many things to do to prepare for next Mondays Disability Advisory Committee meeting on Monday and the Council Meeting Monday evening which will cover the final decisions made regarding the Transit situation I've working so hard on. I also must to my homework for Group Therapy as well.
I'm just starting back with doing daily meditations and am excited about this. The Fragrant Heart meditations is what I've use before and am again. There are so many to choose from lasting from 1min to 30 minute audio tapes to help guide me. I start off with the shorter ones, 5 minutes or less, and slowly work up to the longer ones picking out favorites that I will use time and time again. I'm very happy to be back at this and seem to have passed the blockage I infringed upon myself from doing this. I hope to continue on and on.
